Motherhood is overwhelming, it's also beautiful.
I want to photograph your beautiful, chaotic, crazy life.
You live for your children and them for you. The bond between a mother and child is unlike anything else. It just sounds like some cliche until you have children of your own, then you know it is very real. I want to take that feeling and turn it into a photo. A photo that becomes art in your home. You'll walk past it everyday and some days you'll just stare at that chubby faced baby in the photo wondering where that baby went.
I've always worked with children and although it can be challenging I actually prefer it. Kids like to have fun, are oblivious with all that is wrong with the world and most of all they speak the truth, as harsh as it may be sometimes! I love capturing a child just as they are, messy face, crazy expression in all. Life is messy and I think sometimes we try to hard to clean it up.
That's why I fell in love with newborn photography. As I sat holding my daughter, all of those terrible post pardum days, I thought to myself that I'd never forget her tiny features, those little sounds she made, the smile that was probably just gas. As a mother of a 5 year old I can tell you that without photos I would remember NONE of those things. Motherhood is overwhelming to say the least. That's why my goal is to help freeze these moments in time. To make mom get in the photo even when she doesn't feel like it because one day she'll be glad she did. One day when you've passed that photo down to your child they'll show their little ones and they can all ooh anD ahh over the fact that they have grandmas nose, or a freckle in that same spot.
