Traditions are my favorite, especially Christmas traditions. Do you have traditions that you and your family do every year? Make cookies for Santa? Wear matching pjs? It can be anything! I’ve listed few things to do in Kentuckiana during the holidays and they just might turn into a holiday tradition.
Do you and your family ever go look at Christmas lights during the holiday season? If so, Louisville Mega Cavern is a must see! It truly is like a Christmas wonderland.
Lights Under Louisville is typically about 30 minutes long through 17 miles of lighted passageways. It includes over 900 light characters with over 4,000,000 points of light. It’s amazing!

There so many cute little ice skating rinks in the Kentuckiana area to visit and nothing screams it’s the holiday season more than skating around on ice with tons of Christmas lights and Christmas music playing.
Choose your favorite rink, buy you some hot chocolate and enjoy your day with loved ones.
For anyone who is team “real tree” for Christmas, you’re in luck! There are several Christmas tree farms around the Kentuckiana area.
I have always thought this would be such a fun family tradition to do during the holiday! To make a day of it and do all things Christmas. Pick out the tree, load it up, take it home, get the tree set up in your home and to end the evening with decorating it. It almost sounds like a Hallmark movie, right?
For anyone with kiddos. I highly recommend the Polar Express in French Lick, IN. Tickets typically sell out quickly so you’ll likely need to plan ahead for this one.
What is the Polar Express? It’s an 80 minute train ride that runs through rail yards, neighborhoods and a tunnel on its way to the North Pole. Show up in your pajamas and enjoy the show! It truly is like the movie.
